Full jury seated at Trump trial on third day of selection process

Source: CBS News

Twelve people have been selected to serve on the jury in former President Donald Trump's criminal trial in New York, filling out the panel on the third day of proceedings.

The selection process is ongoing, since six alternate jurors are needed before the trial can move to opening arguments. One alternate had been selected as of Thursday afternoon.

Two of the new members replaced others who were excused earlier in the day, including one woman who expressed concerns about being identified publicly and her ability to remain impartial.

The woman was chosen to serve as Juror #2 on Tuesday, but said she "definitely has concerns now" after friends and family asked her if she was a juror, based on media reports.

New York law permitted 10 peremptory strikes for each side.

He was literally the guy by copier when O’Reilly AND Tucker got fired. He’s on two shows. Two.

14. I take issue with the use of the word "out" in this context. It implies the charges are true.

I don't think there is any evidence to support that. Jesse Watesr is conducting a slime campaign against jurors he thinks might not be pro-Trump. That's jury tampering, not "outing."

It's possible since this got sped up some with 7 new jurors suddenly selected yesterday (after a loss of 2 of the original 7), they could get the rest with enough time to even start opening arguments late this afternoon... But then since it's Friday, they might wait until Monday (they were off on Wednesday).

Why is Trump so afraid of this case? My guess is that David Pecker has a couple of stories on Trump raping 12 year old girls hidden away in his vault. Maybe they will see the light of day...

Yes Pecker does have "catch and kill" stories on Chump's women going back many years before he was in politics. (That's the rumor anyway.) The jury won't be told any of that.

Trump can't be 100% positive that it won't be brought up, or, maybe the press will dig up the story anyway...

6. They need more than one alternate

There are bound to be jury tampering issues or perhaps other problems before this is over.

Most likely they won't end up with the same 12 jurors they started out with. It's common sense, Chump is already trying to "poison" the jury with his tweets.

17. They'll get chosen today.

The selection process is speeding up. Two Monday, 5 Tuesday, -2 who were targeted for tampering, and then 8 yesterday for the full 12 and 1 alternate. That leaves 5 alternates to go.

I suspect that the traitor side exhausted their 10 gimmes on day 1, like the idiots they are. Good attorneys save up a few for just in case. With the peremptory strikes dwindled to nothing or close to it, selection will only go faster now. They may have the 5 chosen by lunchtime, but I doubt we'll go into the weekend without the full component ready to go.

I think we can be reasonably sure that the trial starts on Monday.

18. I think they should have 9 or 12 alternates

Trump's strategy is clearly to burn his way through enough jury members to get a mistrial. And at least some people at Fox or eager to help.
