Newly unsealed grand jury testimony from Trump's valet helps explain FBI's desire to search Mar-a-Lago

Source: CNN Politics

CNN — Donald Trump’s valet told investigators before the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago in 2022 that he randomly chose boxes of documents to return to the National Archives and Trump himself directed that dozens more boxes located at the resort wouldn’t be returned, according to recently unsealed court filings.

The filings reviewed by CNN shed new light on the critical role that Walt Nauta, now Trump’s co-defendant in the classified documents case, played in giving the FBI justification to execute the search warrant on the former president’s Florida resort. Nauta testified to a grand jury two months before the August 2022 search about boxes he took from Mar-a-Lago’s storage room in January 2022.

When one grand juror asked Nauta if he would “just pick some off the top,” Nauta said “yes,” according to a newly unsealed transcript and unredacted FBI search warrant affidavit. At one point in the process of choosing boxes for Trump to review before returning them to the Archives, Nauta said that Trump “was like, okay, that’s it.”

Nauta’s account was corroborated by a second witness, whose identity is not publicly known. Both said that Trump gave the direction not to give the National Archives any more boxes.

1. I can't wait for TFG to 'splain this. He's trying to hang Nauta and expects he won't talk against him?

Wonder who the second witness is?

I hate to see someone ruin their life to protect a malignant narcissist who would throw them under the nearest bus without a second's hesitation.

12. Generally speaking, it's narcissists who fall victim to malignant narcissists.

Being a powerful narcissist is their long-held dream. "Successful" malignant narcissists are magnets for narcissists.
Trump
Melon Husk
So many more.

Narcissists are the only ones who will fall for the crumbs they are thrown and will hang on for a little taste of that power.

I've done a fair amount of reading about narcissism (malignant and otherwise) during the last few years, and that's not my impression at all. Narcissists are master manipulators, and they are attracted to certain types of people.

The 5 types of people narcissists are attracted to, according to relationship experts: https://www.businessinsider.com/the-types-of-people-narcissists-are-attracted-to-2018-8

Among other factors, narcissists like people they can manipulate and who boost their own self-esteem and validate their sense of importance. They are not likely to get these things from other narcissists.

3. We have a long road to get our country back as long as this gets treated like "No Big Deal"

The thirst for any kind of conviction of TSF will be temporary revenge satisfaction. I don't care about anything else except this and the truth of who got them and what they got. There are probably our own "citizens" that could be holding copies documents for sale for their own greed or as ransom for their own protection if needed. What happened here will go down in history as the biggest betrayal of a an entire peoples government in history.

And all we will get is Tabloid Donny

...the only person treating this like "no big deal" is Judge Loose Cannon. She is the only reason this has been dragged out so long and continues to be dragged out.

I curse the day she was assigned to this case.

Since 1979 when HWBush and his cronies, committed Treason to install Reagan in office, then turned around and committed several acts that were clearly Treason the first few years.......Worse of all, 27? U.S. Navy Sailors died because of one of their blatant crimes....

And Cheney and Rumsfeld disclosing the name of one of our CIA agents out of childish revenge, which most likely caused the deaths of countless other CIA agents and assets during the next 24-48 hours around the world.......

5. Grand jury testimony - this was before Walt Nauta was indicted, am I right?

I'm assuming Mr. Nauta had not received the "free" benefits of Chump's defense lawyers when he gave this testimony. It might have turned out very differently if he had. I have a feeling that poor Mr. Nauta will go to prison in order to save Chump's butt.

so I expect he had 45's lawyers like a number of others. At least one of the others eventually dropped the 45 lawyer and did a plea deal through a different lawyer but Nauta kept the 45 lawyer - at least in D.C..

There was a change in grand jury venue from D.C. (where document subpoenas had been originally issued) to FL (where the seearch warrant was authorized) when another grand jury was empaneled and that is when things went awry - https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/07/politics/cannon-mar-a-lago-grand-jury/index.html

The 45 lawyer doing a bunch of employees became a conflict of interest and after the indictments came down in FL (instead of D.C.), that is when Nauta initially had issues getting a lawyer in Miami in order to appear at his arraignment.

15. What we need to start with
Tue May 7, 2024, 06:26 PM
May 7

is U.S. Supreme Court of Judges that aren't as crooked, and corrupt as Trump and his CABAL......or HWBush and his CABAL, or WBush and his CABAL..........Interesting that many of the names in all of those CABALs are the same....HW, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz etc....

Of course that is nothing new......the U.S. Supreme Court literally "THREW" the election to Bush in 2000. And even worse, the USSC now has a precedent to allow them to "legally" do the exact same thing again and again, most probably in this upcoming 2024 election.
