Ken Cuccinelli: 'Go to jail' to fight contraception mandate
Source: Politico
Cuccinelli, who also addressed the Iowa Republican Partys Lincoln Day Dinner last spring, told conservative radio host Steve Deace that he strongly supports the lawsuit by Hobby Lobby Stores against the Affordable Care Acts requirements for contraception coverage.
A devout Catholic, Cuccinelli told Deace that opponents of the mandate should put the controversial measure on trial by making the government enforce it in as heavy-handed a way as possible.
You know, Abraham Lincoln has many good quotes, but one of them is the best way to get rid of a bad law is to enforce it vigorously. And here were going to have an example of what tyranny means when its played to its logical conclusion, Cuccinelli said. Because forcing business owners and businesses to do this is not consistent with our history of preserving religious liberty, one of the most important protections we have in this country.

(9,267 posts)The real reason for the contraception mandate is that allowing enough time (at least 2 years) between pregnancies saves lives of mothers and babies.

(10,597 posts)...because if he's in jail, he can't run for office. Why would he be talking to an Iowan right wing radio station? I say it's a good law, should be enforced vigorously, and think it will stand. The law has nothing to do with religion. It's about a woman's right to live her own life the way she sees fit, and not living it according to some ancient religious law. After all, if women want to live by religious law, then they won't worry about birth control and will have untold numbers of children.

(74 posts)say how many years they have been married (if they are married) and how many children they have,if they are able to conceive. I would think that many people who have been married for 10 or 20 years will not have 10 or twenty children. Now how could that be?

(3,335 posts)just like Glenn Beck tells his followers to buy a gun and be prepared to fight the civil war that's coming. All from the convenience and security of his secured, temperature controlled studio. Funny how the vast majority of those who are in favor of their right to own people-killers, never put on the uniform of this country and served when they had the opportunity to do so, including Beck. But they like to whip up a frenzy in their stupid followers, to pick up their arms and fight this tyrannical government and I assure you that Beck, who has amassed quite a fortune doing just that, has no intention of doing so himself.
