US businesses complain about India trade practices

WASHINGTON: Leading US business groups on Wednesday urged President Barack Obama to act against what they said were "unacceptable" Indian trade practices that have hurt US exports in areas ranging from pharmaceuticals to electronics.

The National Association of Manufacturers and other business groups expressed their concerns in a letter that was still being circulated on Wednesday to collect more signatures. It was expected to be sent to the White House within days.

"The government of India is discriminating against a wide range of US exports, jeopardizing domestic jobs and putting at risk a growing bilateral trading relationship worth more than $60 billion last year," the groups said.

"These actions are unacceptable for a responsible middle-income country and rising global power," the groups said.

since they keep harping that "Clinton signed it", then why don't they push to repeal it?
