Shutdown Stalemate Continues; White House Meeting Unproductive

Source: CBS NEWS

President Obama's 70-minute White House meeting late Wednesday afternoon with congressional leaders, an effort to break the stalemate over the partial government shutdown, did nothing to help end the impasse.

"We had a nice conversation, light conversation," House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said following the meeting, but noted the president repeated that he will not negotiate on dialing back Obamacare.

He added that he hopes that Mr. Obama and Democrats will have a serious discussion about resolving their differences with House Republicans.

"All we're asking for is a discussion and fairness for the American people under Obamacare," he said.

How about the WORKING parents (not a living wage but working) of children that cannot drop them off at Headstart?

How about children that can no longer be processed to participate in potentially life-saving cancer treatments?

How about the 800K families that cannot pay bills, rent or a mortgage because of your intransigence?

You talk about fairness.....I tell you I want every American to own up to paying for their healthcare. I am tired of paying for this because others don't have insurance or when I need care at the emergency room I am surrounded by children with a cold or the flu.

Fuck you, Boehner boy. There is no fairness in what you propose because I have come to the conclusion that you are stupid. Did you pass the 8th grade? I would be surprised. Not to cast aspersions but he seems like someone in a different world.

"No government by Extortion" do you not understand Mr Speaker?

“We had a nice conversation, a polite conversation, but at some point we’ve got to let the process that our founders gave us work out,” Boehner added.

Arrest the teahadist representatives, charge them with treason, and then have the remaining "rump" congress pass a damn budget.

It is the law of the land, flaws and all.

The handful of House Repukes need a lesson in reality.

They will not win the Obamacare fight. Time to move on and end this nonsense.

And there is no need for the President or the Senate to make a compromise.

If he wants to change it he needs to find a way to get a bill through congress and signed by the President. Sorry Boehner, that's the American way!
