Report: Netanyahu Orders Mossad To Find Proof Iran Violating Nuclear Accord

Source: Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has ordered both the Mossad and Military Intelligence to search for evidence that Iran is continuing nuclear activities forbidden under the Geneva accord signed with world powers last week, The Sunday Times quoted Israeli defense sources as saying.

Proof that Iran was violating the terms of the six-month interim deal would complicate US President Barack Obama's push to delay the passage of new congressional sanctions against Iran while a long-term deal with Iran is being negotiated.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has repeatedly said, both before and after the signing of the deal in Geneva, that the agreement does not sufficiently curb Iran's ability to obtain nuclear weapons and prematurely offers the Islamic Republic sanctions relief.

“Everyone has his own view regarding the Geneva agreement,” the Times quoted an Israeli intelligence source as saying. “But it is clear that if a smoking gun is produced, it will tumble like a house of cards.”

And he finally got what he needed in the Atta in Prague intelligence. One problem, when you are desperate to find data you will manufacture data in order to get what you need, as Atta in Prague turned out to be. That is what Cheney did and that is what Netanyahu is attempting here. Anything they find will be suspect for this very reason. And if Netanyahu does come up with something that blows up in his face then that will damage Israel a great deal. Desperation is not a pretty scene and Netanyahu is clearly showing desperation here.

Even tho he never found it, Rumsfeld and Bush trumpeted it and got their war.
Has an all-too-familiar ring to it.

If it is, as the article suggests, "ordered them to search for evidence" that is tantamount to ordering them to "find" or "manufacture" evidence.

It would be one thing if he directed the Moussad to continue their surveillance of the Iranian nuclear program including any evidence of existing or future violations of the agreement reached in Geneva.

My fear it is the same order given by Cheney in the run-up to the Iraq war where the end-game was already known - war. It was just a matter of finding or manufacturing the evidence to convince the American people.

Here is a two-bit Israeli prime minister (doesn't hold water to previous Israeli PMs) directing his intelligence agency to "find" evidence.

He is not interested in facts. He is interested in his end-game.

I am skeptical of the deal and of Iranian compliance but I am willing to give it a go. It is a far cry from Chamberlin's agreement to allow Hitler to annex large portions of Czechoslovakia.

The man is grasping at anything--ANYTHING--that will make his "hair-on-fire" policy towards the entire region valid.
