Sen. Harry Reid goes to hospital as a precaution

Source: Washington Times

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was not feeling well Friday morning and decided to go to the hospital, where he will remain as a precaution, his office said.

“Tests have been conducted, and everything is normal. He is alert, resting and feeling better,” spokesman Adam Jentleson said.

As a result, the Nevada Democrat will not be working as the Senate wraps up its pre-holiday work on Friday.

I'm very concerned.....just a gut feeling that he has an undisclosed chronic illness which is unstable. Wasn't he hospitalized say within the year already? Forget the reason given....maybe GI?

Sen. Reid injured in I-15 motorcade crash
An investigation is ongoing into what caused Friday's chain-reaction crash involving U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who was rushed to the emergency room at University Medical Center by his security detail, a Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman said.

The 72-year-old Democrat from Nevada was released from the hospital about two hours after the 1:10 p.m. pileup on northbound Interstate 15 at Sahara Avenue, and officials with his office said he suffered rib and hip contusions but was otherwise unhurt.

They also said some of his staff and security detail had minor injures.

Otherwise known as the Senate, day after day, I'd be in the hospital too.

Stay well, Senator Reid.

Harry Reid hospitalized

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has been hospitalized after “not feeling well,” but “everything is normal” following a series of tests, his office said Friday.

Out of precaution, Reid, 74, went to the hospital early Friday morning, spokesman Adam Jentleson said.

“He is alert, resting and feeling better,” Jentleson said.

Reid will be staying in the hospital so doctors can observe him, and he will not be on Capitol Hill on Friday, his office said.

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) will be acting in Reid’s place. .... -snip-
