Christie Hires Giuliani Associate for Bridge Inquiries

Source: NY Times

Gov. Chris Christie announced Thursday that he has hired a lawyer who is a longtime associate of former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani to conduct an internal investigation of his office following revelations that top aides orchestrated lane closings on the George Washington Bridge in an act of political retribution.

Mr. Christie’s announcement said that the lawyer, Randy Mastro, would work with the inquiry by the United States attorney’s office into the lane closings, which gridlocked emergency vehicles, commuters and school buses in Fort Lee, N.J., for four days in September.

But while the memo said that Mr. Mastro would also assist with “other appropriate inquiries,” it left unsaid whether Mr. Christie intended to cooperate with bipartisan investigations that are to be authorized Thursday by the New Jersey Legislature.

When asked directly whether the governor considered the legislative inquiries “appropriate,” a spokesman for the governor, Colin Reed, declined to answer. “I have nothing to add beyond the statement,” he said.

And just a few more times for good measure.... 9-11 9-11 9-11.

You'd think Christie would do a better job choosing his friends and associates.

Credibility refers to the objective and subjective components of the believability of a source or message.
Traditionally, modern, credibility has two key components: trustworthiness and expertise, which both have objective and subjective components. Trustworthiness is based more on subjective factors, but can include objective measurements such as established reliability. Expertise can be similarly subjectively perceived, but also includes relatively objective characteristics of the source or message (e.g., credentials, certification or information quality).[1] Secondary components of credibility include source dynamism (charisma) and physical attractiveness.

What part of this don't they understand?

...so why does he need an outside investigator for his internal investigation?

How much is this going to cost the people of New Jersey?

Anyone ever notice that every time he talks about this he says he feels "betrayed", "disappointed", "upset" that people in his office lied to him. Not ONCE has he said he was upset that the bridge was blocked in the first place!

I guess blocking the bridge was okay, just the lying about it after the fact was bad?

that if he stalls long enough with bs appointments like this, throws enough of his staff under 'the bus', distracts and obfuscates enough from his direct role in this and bullshits plenty, people in the MSM will move on to other things. Thing is, this will probably be what happens.

heavyweight counsel, seeing as she is the Scapegoat offered up for sacrifice? Fired immediately. Liar. Deceitful. Words Christie used to define her. The two men who seemingly hatched the plot (with Christie, of course) ... resigned.
