Most Women Say The GOP Doesn't Understand Their Problems, Poll Finds

Source: huffingtonpost.com

A majority of Americans -- especially female ones -- think the Republican Party is out of touch with women, according to a poll released Friday by CNN/ORC.

Fifty-five percent of Americans, including 59 percent of women, say the GOP generally does not understand the problems and concerns of women.

While most Republican women gave their party positive marks, most women identifying as independents thought the party was out of touch.

Democrats fared better on the issue, with just a third of Americans, and 35 percent of women, saying the party didn't understand their concerns.

Their barefoot and pregnant mentality, their constant desire to have women in breeding mode as much as possible gives them little incentive to improve the quality of life for women.
They want them frumpy and in the kitchen. Any woman who takes care of herself, looking nice or desiring a career is considered a loose woman worthy of being chased after but little else.
How can they expect women to endorse these clowns when they have no respect for women?

I had Polio as a child - never bothered me until I was 32 and I learned about post-polio-syndrome and the chronic pain it brings. I worked in pain until I was 45.

Now with all this talk of moochers/takers, it has prompted perfect strangers to lash out at moochers like me.

When my son's band was playing at a music festival at Red Rocks, they played up top where there is no seating. My friend found a security guard standing next to a stack of chairs and he told her flat out - no he would not give her a chair for her disabled companion.

So I go over there - show the man my brace and he yells at me "I'm so sick of you people and your problems, I told your friend no and I'm not changing my mind."

My mom always told me kids could be mean, but the GOP has proven they are by far the biggest asshole meanies and the disabled is now their new target of hate and intolerance.

It's odd that we use the word "humanity" to describe caring and benevolence, yet some humans are bereft of those traits.

I hope that others treat you with the kindness and respect we all deserve.

It seems like they would rather have the reThugs around rather than deal them a death blow once-and-for-all, fearing what will take the place of the reThuglican party. And my answer is, if the Dems had done it when more cooler heads abound in the reThuglican party way back when, then we would most probably not be dealing with these teahadists and Kochadists and Paulists and Cruzhadists by now!

its the knowledge that if they knock the republicans too far out of power, then they wont have a stick to beat voters over the head with when they question why Democrats arent serving our interests any better than the republicans did.

by glomming onto a GOP male, or the GOP party as a substitute father/husband.

The deluded women think it can NEVER happen to them! They are God's Chosen, special, protected, entitled, even.

Yeah, there's a lot of that going around. Not just amongst the GOP women, either.

...the rest I think mostly stems from that.

And it's pretty damn hypocritical for such knuckle-draggers as the GOP to project their own lack of humanity onto women - then punish women for it - rather than fixing themselves. Worse, GOP evidently thinks it is entitled (speaking of "entitlements&quot to use of women for that purpose.

So yea, it starts there (IMO) .... and from that goes the rest.

The list of who GOP doesn't care about is very very long. Blacks, Hispanics, Educators, Scholars, Scientists, Poor, Homeless, Workers, Middle Class, Religious Minorities, Sovereignty of other countries, Urban dwellers -- and so on.

If one doesn't have a few of the attributes from the list of ignorant, racist, xenophobic, bible-thumper, white, rich, war mongerer, rural, and American exceptionalist, GOP flips you the bird.

Folks can rage about men all they want but a rational level of solidarity among women would see the will of regressives men washed away in the flood.

Women's issues should draw more than a basic majority among women.
