Kansas Sec. of State: 19,000 disenfranchised voters are ‘the 28 percent procrastinators’

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach (R) downplayed the prospect of thousands of voters being disenfranchised by a new state “voter ID” law, calling them “procrastinators” in video published on Thursday by Right Wing Watch.

“Nobody’s rights have been suspended,” Kobach said in the video, filmed in January during a speech for the Kansas Sovereignty Coalition. “Those 19,000 people haven’t completed their registration yet. They can complete it tomorrow and vote tomorrow if they want to. Nobody’s been denied any rights, they just haven’t finished it yet.”

The law, which was upheld by a federal judge on Wednesday, is a two-tier plan potentially establishing different stipulations for state and federal elections.

New voters will be required to provide a birth certificate, passport or other documents showing they are U.S. citizens, as opposed to the federal form mandated by the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) that only asks voters to state that they are citizens.

Kobach is truly one of the most reprehensible RW anti-immigrant thugs ever to exist in modern times. Starting off as a star underling in John Asscroft's "Justice" department, Kobach drafted and assisted other governmental entities in promulgating vicious anti-immigrant legislation time after time after time. He was instrumental in RW idiot Lou Barletta's putting in place the first of the kind in the country local 'screw the foreigner' laws established when Barletta was Mayor of Hazleton, PA. (This law has just been struck down by the courts). After that he graduated to now become the resident ALEX-type expert in laws which are specifically designed to harass and intimidate foreigners - legal or not - who have the temerity to try and live and work in the U.S. Now, as Kansas SOS he has a large megaphone and an entire state at his disposal to use as a laboratory experiment to try out further 'legal' ways to make life unbearable for foreigners living among us. No surprise that this asshole should also be doing double time in suppressing the vote. A truly obnoxious and genuinely worthless human being.

The reality is that Kansas is the center of the Flat Earth universe...Kobach won because the majority of Kansans think the same way he does...they just don't have to courage to wear their white hoods and swastikas out in the open!

People like Kobach will never be defeated because their supporters get to hide in the shadows, like roaches...it's the voters, not the politicians that are the problem in this country.

I've been living under this right wing tyranny for 34 years now and I can really empathize with the Jews
in 1930's Germany . They will not stop with out physical force .
