Dems criticize governor hopeful Beau McCoy's (R-NE) ad in which he strikes a Barack Obama doll

Nebraska Democrats on Friday criticized a TV ad showing Republican governor candidate Beau McCoy knocking a Barack Obama doll off a fence post with his hand.
The ad opens with McCoy saying, More Obamacare in Nebraska? That is the last thing we need.
He then strikes a doll that resembles President Obama.
Beau McCoy hit a new low in his ad, where he is seen striking the president off a fence post, said Dan Marvin, executive director of the Nebraska Democratic Party.

(23,998 posts)...the uproar that would follow video of President Obama knocking a Beau McCoy bobble head from a fencepost. The boundaries of civil public discourse would be obliterated.
Wait. That's already happened.
Hmm. It really is hard to imagine how low radical conservatives would sink, in this scenario.

That commercial absolutely stinks.
It's so obnoxious, yet it's also so stupid.
He seems a little s-l-o-w for a governor, doesn't he?
Good luck to Nebraska.

(31,382 posts)and while we knew some lovely people, the folks who run the state are major a$$holes. I swore when we moved I'd never go back
and almost 14 years later, I never have.
Their state motto should be "ignorant and proud of it".

(4,949 posts)McCoy's gestures & words are more than symbolic. The ability of this psychopath to repress his behavior is wearing thin and I think he should be held responsible for it! Furthermore he is acting as a role model for others of the same ilk!
McCoy should have more than just a verbal condemnation of this ad.
I think he should be censured, this ad should be pulled, and he should be blocked from making any more ads.
I also think McCoy should be fined and have to make a public apology not only to our President but all US citizens.
In addition he should have to work in a nursing home, hospital or hospice for at least 1 yr. (without complaining about it in public).
It's really past time these spoiled brats get away with this incitive behavior!

Looks like Jon Bruning has a decent lead on the field at 35% in a five or six-way primary.

(2,117 posts)On a completely unrelated note, I love how you can say "Conservative Republican" in a commercial and it's supposed to be perceived as a positive, while if anyone dared to identify themselves as a "Liberal Democrat," they would be considered a fringe candidate and not have any remote chance of winning.

This is a out as mature as drawing mustaches on Obama posters, with the added creepiness of violent rhetoric. Typical nullification nonsense.
