Media Matters David Brock Urges CBS News To Re-Open '60 Minutes' Benghazi Investigation
Source: huffingtonpost.com
NEW YORK -- Media Matters chairman David Brock is urging top CBS News executives to re-open the network's internal investigation over its discredited "60 Minutes" report on the Benghazi attack.
Lara Logan, the network's chief foreign correspondent, and Max McClellan, her producer, went on leave following the network's internal review and have not returned. A New York magazine report, published Sunday night, has renewed interest in the network controversy and provided new details about how the erroneous Oct. 27 story -- which featured a discredited "eyewitness" and several unsourced claims about the September 2012 attack that killed four Americans -- ever made it on air.

Brock also wrote that CBS' review did not disclose that Logan consulted with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), one of administration's toughest critics on Benghazi, while preparing the story. The morning after Logan's "60 Minutes" report aired, Graham seized upon Davies' bogus account as evidence that all the Benghazi survivors had not been heard from and that Obama administration appointees should be blocked until all witnesses had testified before Congress.
"Did CBS know how closely Logan was collaborating with Sen. Graham on the Benghazi report?" Brock asked. "If so, why was this not disclosed on air or in CBS' review of the erroneous report?"

(26,060 posts)being pedantic. I'm a big fan of Mr. Johnson's website. Discussions remain polite even though a couple of the posters are conservatives and I find that very refreshing. Here's his post explaining why he left the right wing machine:

(22,651 posts)CBS NEWS needs to do the right thing for their viewers.
If CBS was shammed into false journalism they need to set the record straight. CBS knows how many times Laura Logan met-up with Sen. Graham and exactly who the sources were for her 'story'.
Be a shame for CBS to become just like fox-lies, where viewers tune them out because people can't believe a thing they report as honest news.

(429 posts)ABC hired Jonathan Karl as their Chief White House Correspondent. He has also been busy spreading misinformation about Benghazi. They have recently hired Laura Ingraham as a contributor. Both Karl and Ingraham are the product of the Collegiate Network. It's an extreme right-wing organization that promotes and supports right-wing newspapers on college campuses. It has trained people like Dinesh D'Souza, Michelle Malkin, Rich Lowry, and James O'Keefe. Any serious news organization that hires from an organization that produces the likes of O'Keefe and Malkin, is not a serious news organization.
CBS not only hired Fox News David Rhodes as CBS News President, but has hired former Fox reporter Major Garrett as Chief White House Correspondent. This is exactly why every minuet move of president Obama is criticized. The Media is not his friend, and it looks like it is no friend of democracy. It is also why you are being propagandized to not turn out for the 2014 Midterm.
We should get behind Brock and submit a petition to the FCC.

(57,936 posts)It may be unfair, but that's the way it is. Hillary needs to carefully consider whether she wants to suffer through what Republicans will say about her and do to her should she run in 2016. She will have a tough time of it.
I don't like some of the things that Bill Clinton did when in office. And I don't like Hillary's putting herself in debt to Wall Street, but a lot of what Republicans are doing is just dirty politics. And that is what they are good at. It's about all the Republican Party is good at.
This is another reason for Warren to run. Republicans would have a tough time distracting attention from Warren's very strong, very populist message.

(285 posts)I like Warren, nevertheless, she has stated on numerous occasions that she is not interested in running for president. Republicans can scream Benghazi until they're blue in the face. What's more, their attacks on OBAMA CARE, back fired, so now here we are again with the Benghazi conspiracy crap.
Pres Hillary R Clinton 2016!
