The Celebrate CB board has extended an olive branch to local Vietnam War veterans.
Board members issued an apology over the denial of a local veterans groups float that prevented it from participating in last Saturdays Celebrate CB parade a move that drew praise from the president of the veterans organization who sought to enter the parade.
Carol Horner, chairwoman of the Celebrate CB board, said the move to deny the groups float application was made after complaints were received last year from parents and veterans alike, who expressed concern regarding the veterans groups depiction of a soldier in a tiger cage cell from the Vietnam War.
However, she said organizers made a big mistake by not realizing the importance of the imagery behind the float.

Hosts this story drew national attention from Veterans groups. Considering how much Veteran's are in the news of late, I posted this in LBN. If it gets locked I will repost it in GD tomorrow.
