Survey: US gas prices down 4 cents per gallon

CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) The average U.S. price of gasoline has dipped 4 cents per gallon in the past two weeks, and prices in California have fallen 5 cents in the same time period.
According to the Lundberg Survey released Sunday, the average nationwide price for a gallon of regular is now $3.48 8 cents below what it was a year ago. The average price for midgrade gasoline is $3.69, and premium is $3.84.
Of cities surveyed in the Lower 48 states, the lowest price, $3.11, was in Jackson, Mississippi. San Francisco had the highest price at $3.92.

(111,267 posts)have taken a major dump. They're down more than ten bucks a barrel as of Friday and that has translated into gas less than three bucks a gallon in low tax areas.
It was still 3.39 on Friday.

It costs electrical utilities in Saudi Arabia just 7 cents per gallon, never forget.

(51,076 posts)which they have to report every quarter you will see that they are gouging us til hell won't have it.
We upgraded our vehicle (2014 Focus) to a new one a year ago in response to that gouging. We save enough on gasoline on this new car to pay the insurance on all three of our vehicles. We drove it a tad over 10,000 miles this last 12 months but yet we're saving a ton of money. I'd say a good third of the payments even on those few miles driven
Thanks Obama for making the auto companies have to increase the fuel economy on our automobiles. If not for the government involvement we'd still be driving 1960's technology

In the meantime, noted that the milk I purchase went from $3.21/half gallon to ... $3.93/half gallon.
