NEW YORK – It took the biggest stage and home turf, but Serena Williams is once again a Grand Slam champion.

Shaking off some early nerves on 23,000-seat Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday, No. 1 Williams cruised past 10th seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 6-3, 6-3 in 75 minutes to win her third consecutive U.S. Open title and 18th career major singles crown.
