British Fighter Jets Intercept Russian Planes
Source: Sky News
British fighter jets have been scrambled to intercept two Russian planes flying through international airspace.
The Typhoon jets were sent to identify the planes, which turned out to be Russian military Bears.
A statement released by the RAF said the aircraft did not enter UK airspace.
The statement said the launch was the first time a Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) had been issued from RAF Lossiemouth since the Moray base took on the role of defending the UK's northern airspace.

(23,946 posts)gets published during times of political tension then the masses can be prodded into compliance with the government rhetoric.....wake up, folks, it is all a game to them and you are the toys.
And when Western militaries violate air space, which they do all the time, there is a lot of air and aircraft up there, who is going to publish it? If RT does THEN folks get it....do not trust the rhetoric.

(25,699 posts)Our president has said he doesn't care if they do or not, he's gong to bomb syria anyway. Oh, and continuearming the terrorists there, so there's that.
With howling support from the same people who think Putin is the devil, of course.

(6,278 posts)Our hands are far from clean. But whether the bombing campaign is wise, effective, moral, etc. or not, the part of it that happens in Iraq, at least, seems not to be violating the airspace against the wishes of the recognized government.
So yeah, Syria would be a different story!

(21,317 posts)Certainly, the internationally recognized government of Libya didn't request that bombing campaign by the west, in 2012 or thereabouts. Nor did the internationally recognized government of Iraq, in 2003.
