New US-led air strikes hit Isil targets in Syria

Source: The Telegraph (UK)

The US-led coalition widened its air strikes against Islamic State (Isil) group targets in Syria on Saturday as part of "near continuous" raids against the jihadists.

The expanded operations in Syria by Washington and its Arab allies came after three more European governments deployed fighter jets for strikes against IS in Iraq, freeing up US air power.

They are training 5,000 rebels but say they will need 12 - 15,000 to push back ISIL.

Maybe it would be better to follow Rumsfeld's doctrine of "you go to war with the army you have, not the army you'd like to have".

Rebel training....that will take months if not years. Yesterday's rebels will be tomorrow's terrorists, just like today's ally weaponry becomes tomorrow's terrorist weaponry.

4. It's a famous quote from Rumsfeld. I'm not endorsing him, I just thought it was appropriate.

5. My point is the quote is attributable to many folks in history, long before your chosen messenger.

Rumsfeld did not make it famous, he just plagiarized it using broken English.

I thought it was irresponsible to go into a war of choice ill-prepared.

8. In other media outside the corporate media in America it is "Arab-led strikes assisted by America."

Which is more accurate since they have done most of the missions....Americans must never know that 5 Sunni nations are killing fellow Sunnis......putting to bed the major media lie of "where are the Muslims condemning ISIS"?

They are in fighter planes killing their enemy and America's enemy, that is where.
