Boehner: US may need ground troops vs. militants

Source: AP-Excite

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker John Boehner says the United States may have "no choice" but to send American troops to fight Islamic State group militants if President Barack Obama's strategy fails to destroy the extremist group.

Boehner tells ABC's "This Week" that he doesn't believe Obama's approach will accomplish that.

He says it will take more than airstrikes to destroy the Islamic State group, and he criticizes Obama for saying he won't send in American ground troops.

FULL story at link.

In 60 Minutes interview he said any ground troops need to be from the region.

NBC Nightly News today had a fairly encouraging report by Richard Engel. He showed some Kurdish men who are fired up and itching for the fight, pissed off that ISIS bastards are raping Kurdish women and beheading Kurdish men.

15. Meanwhile, he's deploying the 1st Army Division HQ to Iraq.

I can't think of a good reason for a divisional HQ unit to be deployed to Iraq.

That unit's sole function is to direct the disposition of ground troops in a combat theater. You need a headquarters unit in place before you deploy regular line units to a combat theater. I mean, they're sending a General and his support staff to Iraq. WTF is he doing there if there are no "boots on the ground?"

How about you and the rest of the warmongering vermin in Congress grab some guns and do your own dirty work for a change?

10. Well . . . duh. If Obama says "no ground troops," what's Boehner's alternative?

In any case, no need to worry since Congress is on vacation most of the time and only names post offices when they are in Washington. On a "working" day that is.

Isn't it about time the region, takes up for itself. President Obama did say 1 thing I totally agreed with Sunday... "When the world needs help, they don't call Beijing, They don't call Moscow, they call the US".... but that being said, if the Middle East does not want this terrorist group to overrun them, then they need to step up and take care of it..

If neighboring countries won't send troops in, then the US will have to".

So guess what neighboring countries will do? Yep, they won't send in their troops; they'll force the US to send ours. Why sacrifice their own kids when the US Speaker of the House guaranteed that the US will send ours?

Nice job, Mr. Speaker, nice job. You just sent hundreds if not thousands of Americans to their deaths, or condemned them to lives of pain and suffering.

350 million of us in the country, and this clown ends up as Speaker? Seriously?

If Obama had a poster that was all red and pointed this fact out, the Orange Invader would disagree with him. Scum, slime, there is no pejorative too low for this piece of human excrement!
