Times-Picayune Endorses Landrieu On Front Page: She's 'Vital' To Louisiana

Source: TPM

(snip)
"When Mary Landrieu was elected to the U.S. Senate 18 years ago, Louisiana residents needed her to become a strong and effective advocate for the state. She did that, forging relationships across party lines, pushing three different presidents and her colleagues in Congress to treat us fairly and building the clout that comes not only with seniority but respect," the editorial board wrote in the endorsement.

The editorial listed Landrieu's accomplishments in the Senate and painted her as a moderate.

"The Republican opposition is trying to make this a partisan race and falsely paint Sen. Landrieu as a liberal Democrat. She isn't," the editorial board wrote. "She occupies the middle ground in Congress."

They wrote that her Congressional "knowledge and influence are vital" to Louisiana residents.

I got hooked on the Times-Picayune after Hurricane Katrina. They have some good reporting. Sometimes you have to go with spam for supper when the alternate menu is botulism.
