Thousands of Gov. Walker-related emails released

By SCOTT BAUER 1 hour ago

MILWAUKEE (AP) —

.....Burke released a new campaign ad two hours before the emails were made public that mentions the convictions and says the state can't afford four more years of Walker. Burke told reporters before she voted early in Madison on Tuesday morning that the timing of the ad wasn't based on the emails' release.

"The timing is about that people when they go to the polls need to consider his entire record over the last four years when looking at the next four years," Burke said. "Part of that, not only a lagging economy and historic cuts to education, but certainly the scandal around his administration."

Burke said she never discussed the release of the records with Abele. And Paul Bargren, the attorney for Milwaukee County who oversaw release of the records, said in an email that when to release the records was up to his office alone. Abele was not involved, Bargren said.

"As material was ready for release, I chose to make it available rather than hold on to it," Bargren wrote.

Walker, in a prepared statement, noted that Abele, his wife and campaign committee had donated $63,000 to Burke. Walker said releasing the emails now so close to the election was designed to "distract voters from my opponent's failed record."..........

Oh my my. Walker is not a happy camper today.

These two are literally tied in the polls. Nothing was said during the 2 debates they just finished. But looks like Burke is finally going for the jugular!! (figuratively) And I am glad she is!

Heh there Mr. Whiner in chief , did you forget "your phone call" when you thought you were talking to the corrupt friends at Koch, you know the same libertarian's that are seeing the great State of Kansas collapsing around there ears with there libertarian John Birch Society ideologue that has left the state 280 million in the red, and left your once wealthy state almost dead last in job creation and over 1.8 billion short of cash, where are going to get the money to balance your budget, cut education, that's the program to cut so your state falls further behind the proverbial 8 ball.
How much did you get from the corrupt Sheldon Adelson, you know the same right wing casino hypocrite you visited in Nevada while your state is still hemorrhaging jobs and a tax base.
Blame it on the public worker and unions don't think so bucko
Lets call like it is there bucko, you go on bended knee to collect bribe money to harm the citizens of the great State of Wisconsin and then try to blame your failure and corruption on someone else or did you forget the six convicted felons from your re-election committee.
Who was in charge there buddy, you have only one guess?
It was not Mary Burke

and defer debt until next year like all repug governors do. Remember, when they do the budget this year, it's for next year so his Dem replacement will get stuck with it, as always. We've had 2 repug governors do this. Engler left $4 bil deficit to Granholm, who got it down to $1.5 bil. Now Snyder is whining about being left a $1.5 bil deficit. After he loses, his Dem replacement will do an audit and come out of the meeting with a horrified look on their face, just as Granholm did. "It's worse than we thought and it's worse than we were told." Direct quote.

Time to get aggressive and play the proverbial "hardball". In fact, I've been amazed at the relatively timid and defensive posture of most of the democratic candidates for Senate and for Governor. They need to match and even surpass the vitriol and aggressiveness of the republicans. If we were up by 4 or 5 points, perhaps I could understand the timid response, but we are tied or down in most races, so it's time to show some grit and fight.

Emails show Scott Walker campaign treasurer got inside information on real-estate deal

Records from the office of Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker when he was Milwaukee County's executive and seized as part of a "John Doe" investigation are set to be released Tuesday. His Democratic opponent, Mary Burke, released an ad Tuesday citing the two investigations into Walker's campaigns for governor.
(

The campaign treasurer for Gov. Scott Walker got detailed financial information from a top Walker aide about a real-estate deal he was bidding on, according to correspondence included in thousands of emails released Tuesday related to the closed John Doe investigation....

Scott Walker Whines as 16,000 John Doe Emails Released (and Karl Rove Dives in, too)

..............

Waaaaaah!

But it gets worse for Scotty. because today Mary Burke released a new ad that rightfully questions Walkers integrity.

I'll transcribe it for those unable to view:

4 years of political fistfights, criminal convictions, and secret donations.

Tax cuts for the wealthy 10 times the size of yours and a jobs promise broken.

Where's all that gotten us?

A state divided with the worst jobs record in the Midwest and a future that looks more uncertain every day.

We can't afford 4 more years of Scott Walker and we don't have to.

Yowsa! That's going to leave a mark.

The ad was scheduled for release today without knowledge that the Doe document dump was going to be made. A spokesperson for the Milwaukee County's Corporation Council has said that the documents are released as soon as they become available due to the judicial decision on the release of documents. No elected official is involved in that process.

Walker knows that, of course, but his "job" is to point fingers, distract from his sleazy history of having aides do campaign work, anonymous pro-Walker blogging on news sites, and fundraising while in a government office when they should have been doing official work for the people of Milwaukee County. The emails being released were deliberately hidden from the public by the use of an illegal secret router and private email accounts to skirt the law requiring the use of government servers and data archiving. The chickens are coming home to roost.

It gets better (or, at least more interesting) below the cheese curd.....more

....WHAT'S NEW?

The emails shed more light on how those running Walker's 2010 campaign for governor worked closely with those in his county office on strategy and responding to media requests. In one Sept. 30, 2010, exchange, in which a reporter is asking for details about how much of his salary and benefits Walker had returned to the county, his campaign manager Keith Gilkes tells Walker's county spokeswoman: "Do Not Send ANYTHING until Scott specifically oks it." In a March 16, 2010, email to Russell, Walker discusses keeping county salaries down with the election seven months away "and the press is already in silly season. I bounced it past the dark side and they agree. Any hires I make will be under a microscope and we don't need a story about a pay raise — for anyone. I am sorry and I know it stinks but there will be time to talk about improvements after Nov 3rd."
