Conservative provocateur O’Keefe baits two organizers into endorsing voter fraud
Source: KDVR-TV FOX 31 Denver
For a few weeks, most of the Democratic organizers in Colorado who encountered James OKeefe recognized and resisted the conservative provocateurs attempts to bait them into endorsing voter fraud.
But not all of them.
Two days after a number of left-leaning media outlets first warned that OKeefe has been in Colorado, he is releasing a nearly eight-minute video of edited footage taken over a few weeks of filming here.
It includes hidden-camera interactions with three young Democratic organizers, two of whom are recorded agreeing with OKeefes suggestion that they fill out unmarked ballots in order to help Democratic Sen. Mark Udall hold onto his seat.

(3,076 posts)... I thought of posting it here, but figured someone from Colorado would be along to post it. I spend much time in the Denver/Aurora area assisting my 80 year old aunt, my ear specialist is in Englewood and consider it my second home.

(36,286 posts)Near as I can make out - Works for Progress is a clearinghouse to hire people to work for non-profits and political campaigns. So it's possible that the woman he was talking with may have been hired through Works for Progress, by not by Works for Progress. That's just my guess after playing with Google for a little - I could be totally off-base.

(24,695 posts)Did he not with some co-horts try to bug a sitting congresswoman's office or was it a senator to intimidate and was he not allowed leave the state where he was CONVICTED, which means he cannot vote in some states.
Was he not given jail time and a probation that he would not do this kind of crap?
Why hasn't the organizers in Colorado filed charges against this little dirt bag, I mean really why is he not in front of a judge to answer questions of this entrapment that HE is creating, there is a law on the books that says you cannot create a crime to justify a crime

(377 posts)Do they have actual ballots? How does that happen? I have worked a lot of elections. No one has a bunch of ballots just sitting around. A voter gets a ballot, marks or punches it, they put it in a locked box.

(14,308 posts)whether the person requested one or not.
That will necessarily mean that thousands of ballots will be mailed to dead people or people who moved six months ago or people who have no intention of voting.
The completed ballots can either be mailed in or given to others (vote harvesters) who can deliver them to the election office.
When a ballot is turned in its signature is supposed to be compared to the signature on file. If a witness signs the ballot, no verification is needed.
The Democratic legislature passed the new system as a way to increase voter turmout. Republicans screamed it was an invitation for vote fraud hence O'Keefe's attempt to prove the point.
I was an election judge long ago too but that was at an actual polling place.
These ballots will be all through the mail with the difference that when a person requested a mail ballot he would be unlikely to throw it away or give it to someone else or leave it in the mailbox after he moved six months ago. This system is different. We'll see how it works out.

(9,350 posts)First, as usual with an O'Keefe film it is edited. Everyone should remember wht O'Keefe did with edited video in the ACORN situation. Second, are the supposed Democrats in the video actually Democrats. Once O'Keefe realized he could not trick any Democrats into agreeing to voter fraud he may have resorted to getting some of his Republican friends to pretend to be Democrats.
Now that this story is out how man people, especially those on the right, will care whether the video is actually factual. If Senator Udall goes on the win the election people on the right will be able to tell their supporters that Udall won because of voter fraud. Then they will be able to call into question all of the elections they did not win.
