Bachmann: Obama turning ‘illiterate’ immigrants into Democratic voters

Source: Washington Post

In a sign of the difficulties GOP leaders face in keeping their unruly caucus on-message, retiring tea party firebrand Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said Wednesday that the immigrants given new protections by the president could become “illiterate” Democratic voters.

“The social cost will be profound on the U.S. taxpayer — millions of unskilled, illiterate, foreign nationals coming into the United States who can’t speak the English language,” Bachmann told reporters at the Capitol. “Even though the president says they won’t be able to vote, we all know that many, in all likelihood, will vote.”

Bachmann added: “The president has a very single-minded vision. He’s looking at new voters for 2016.... People do vote without being a citizen. It’s a wink and a nod, we all know it’s going to happen."

When asked by The Washington Post why she chose to use the word “illiterate” to describe a group of mostly Spanish-speaking workers, Bachmann said her view was informed by trips to the border.

Ask her to prove it. "millions of unskilled, illiterate, foreign nationals coming into the United States who can’t speak the English language". Hey, leave out the foreign nationals bit and you've just described the tea party.

republican radio was used by rove after bush got in, to push a bunch of bullshit about democrats stealing elections and votes in order to give republicans excuses for denying and excusing real efforts (and successes) by republicans to steal elections and votes. they went on to suggest dems want the brown hordes invading the country so they can vote democratic- that can be heard from limbaugh and savage etc today. and it was win win for republicans because they also went on to use all that to push a bunch of voter suppression/ID laws.

another win for republican radio and another reason to stop ignoring it

Much fun. Fabulous experience. These very smart folk who have worked thru the process to become citizens and who are working or serving in the military or operating their own businesses flock to our blue trimmed canopy to have their pictures taken with the cardboard stand-up life-size Obama figure. We are usually swamped with folk. Repub canopy usually not swamped, giggle. Hispanics know their friends.

All it is are deportation deferrals & work permits. Not citizenship, they still won't be able to vote.

They're just trying to make it unpopular with misinformation like "death panels".
