FBI Sends 100 Agents to Ferguson Ahead of Grand Jury Decision
Source: ABC
The FBI has sent about 100 agents to the St. Louis area to help deal with any problems that could arise from the grand jury decision in the police shooting of Ferguson teenager Michael Brown.
In addition to the FBI, other federal agencies have also mobilized staffers to get to St. Louis today, sources told ABC News.
A decision by the grand jury is expected soon, but St. Louis authorities said today that the grand jury is still meeting. The panel will decide whether or not to indict Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson for shooting Brown, who was unarmed, on Aug. 9.
Authorities are braced for a recurrence of angry protests that turned violent at times during the summer.

Maybe it will end up as a brawl between the local military police and the FBI.

(5,861 posts)That is why they said they were 'disgusted' when Black people started voter registration drives in response to the shooting.
Don't worry, in time those scumbags will be thrown out of power.

(11,065 posts)Why do you imagine that anyone will be voting based on what race they are? Assuming they will is racist thinking against both white AND black jurors and grossly insulting to them. How is it that you don't get that? Are we to assume that if you were one of these jurors that you would be voting according to race? Your own or anyone else's?
Who is this "they" that supposedly said they were disgusted by voter registration drives among the black community? Everyone in the St. Louis county government? I thought not. Yet you accuse them all of being racist... even the ones who are of color.
You do realize that the only way to get rid of racism is to see people as people and not as white person, black person, brown person, etc. and assuming anything they do will be according to what their race is or what the race of another is even something as important as indicting someone for a crime? And you do realize that your assuming that a group of people of various races making up the grand jury panel will be voting according to their own race or that of anyone else not only racist but insulting as hell? Yet here you are having the gall to point the finger of racism at others while completely blinded to how racist your own comments were about the jurors and all the people in the St. Louis county government... and not just the white ones - ALL of them.
The most blatant and appalling racism I've seen is right here on DU and ironically by those people waving the civil rights flag eagerly pointing out everyone else's alleged racism while utterly blinded to their own grotesquely racist comments. It never once occurred to me that anyone on that grand jury would be so racist and feeble minded as to make their decision based on race - their own or anyone else's. It never even occurred to me to find out what the racial make up of the grand jury is. And that's because I not only talk the talk but walk the walk - I don't pay any attention to what anyone's race is nor assume how they'll think or act because of whatever race they or someone else is. Yet yours is hardly the first comment concerning the racial make up of the grand jury that assumes they're all so racist they'll vote according to race that's been posted here, and ironically by the very people that claim to be so appalled by racism.
Check your own racism before making any racist accusations toward anyone else. The fact that you can't even see how racist your beliefs are about these people and the racist comments you made about them makes you just about the last person with cred to be pointing out anyone else's alleged racism even after someone else here pointed out that obvious racism about your comments to you. Instead of realizing how racist your comments are, apologizing for them and making a sincere effort to stop judging anyone based on their race or making assumptions about them because of their race you did a "look over there" obnoxious post refusing to even acknowledge what you said that was so obviously racist.

(4,462 posts)both black and white, will be affected by or the result of their race.
If you have an actual basis to accuse any of these specific grand jurors of racism or other malfeasance, I would be most interested in reading your primary sources.
Could you kindly provide a link or citation?

(5,861 posts)...who had gone to prison for 15 years for a murder he did not commit. On reviewing the case, his false prosecution was obviously no mistake, but he was only finally exonerated recently. This was made possible by a huge electoral sweep in my city, years ago.
He is Black.
Do you know who I am talking about? Doubtful; his tale is far too common.
Your coyness is meaningless. Real change will be brought by other people. Not people like you.
So just watch.

(4,462 posts)Your comment would not even constitute actual proof of racism in your story, no less have any relevance to this grand jury.
For the sake of amicability, I'll inquire once again.
Do you have an actual basis to accuse any of these specific grand jurors of racism or other malfeasance?
What proof do you have that the votes of any of the grand jurors, both black and white, will be influenced by the color of their skin, or the race of either Officer Wilson or Michael Brown?
Potentially voting in a way that you or others do not agree with is certainly not evidence that their votes were racist.
Again, I would welcome links or cites to your primary sources.
