How much snow fell? More than 7 feet and counting

Source: Buffalo News

After it all was said and done, how much snow fell? In some places, more than 7 feet.

The official tallies are still coming in, but new reports by the National Weather Service and trained volunteer weather spotters released Friday show that more than 7 feet of snow fell in some areas this week.

An amateur radio operator in Cowlesville in Wyoming County reported to the weather service this morning that 88 inches had fallen since the beginning of the week.

In Erie County, a volunteer weather spotter in Hamburg reported that the snowfall since Monday has been 80.2 inches. A National Weather Service employee measured 79.5 inches of snowfall for the week in another area of Hamburg. Another weather service employee measured 74 inches of snowfall in Lancaster between Monday and Friday.

The pics have been incredible. Not sure what I'd do if I opened my front door & all I saw was a wall of snow.

A most memorable snowfall, indeed. made worse by the wind creating humongous drifts.
