Pakistani Taliban bid to set up cells in India?

Source: Times of India

NEW DELHI: The arrest of a Burmese Rohingya Muslim by NIA in connection with the Bardhaman blasts case is turning out to be perhaps the first attempt by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to set up base in India. Intelligence agencies have found that the accused, identified as Khalid Mohammed, had visited Jammu, UP and New Delhi in the past year. He is now being suspected of attempting to establish sleeper modules for TTP in India.

Factions of TTP have time and again issued threats against India and have even owed allegiance to newly formed Al-Qaida in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and ISIS, but none have been found to have any presence or influence in India yet. No terror incident or arrested militant in India has been found to be even remotely connected with these outfits.

Sources in the security establishment said 28-year-old Khalid, arrested in a joint operation by Intelligence Bureau and NIA from Hyderabad last week, was trained by three TTP trainers who were later arrested in Dhaka by Bangladeshi authorities.

Identified as Fakhrul Hassan, Mehmood and Haidar, the trio belonged to Arakan region of Myanmar but had been living in Pakistan. They had been sent to Myanmar and Bangladesh to train and recruit youth for TTP before they were arrested in January.

This is why all aid to Pakistan should be stopped.
