Stocks open slightly higher a day after a big drop

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stocks are opening slightly higher as the market bounces back from its biggest drop since October.

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 75 points, or 0.4 percent, to 17,607 as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time Thursday. The Dow fell 268 points the day before, its worst drop in two months.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 12 points, or 0.6 percent, to 2,039. The Nasdaq composite rose 31 points, or 0.7 percent, to 4,715.

The price of oil fell 23 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $60.70 a barrel in New York. Crude is trading at a five-year low.

Europe and Asia weaker, oil prices way down on demand.
Hard to figure which way to guess, so we see these fluctuations.
I think we will need some seriously bad news for a correction, but I also think the market is fairly valued so no big surge.
