Senate committee votes for new war powers

WASHINGTON (AP) The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has voted to authorize President Barack Obama's war against the Islamic State.
It was Congress' first vote to explicitly authorize the U.S. war against IS. The vote Thursday was 10-8.
In the U.S. battle against the Islamic militants, Obama has been relying on congressional authorizations that former President George W. Bush used to justify military action after 9/11.

(23,059 posts)Those millionaires are ALWAYS in favor of any war and every war, that's what makes so much $$ for the 1% and by extension for them. That's the only thing they really care about, all the rest is smoke and mirrors.

(24,683 posts)Re-instate the draft and see if they would have sponsored this crap, and see if the public has the means to know and feel that everyone in there families is subject to harm and death and on the "same" page as everyone and its equality.
