Supermodel Beverly Johnson Claims Bill Cosby Drugged Her

Source: NBC News

Supermodel Beverly Johnson has joined the ranks of Bill Cosby's accusers with allegations that the comedian lured her to his home in the mid-1980s and drugged her "with the intention of doing God knows what."

There was no immediate response from Cosby's representatives, but he has steadfastly denied sexually assaulting the string of women who have come forward with accusations.

In an essay for Vanity Fair magazine, the fashion icon Johnson said Cosby invited her to audition for a small part on his television show, invited her and her daughter to his New York brownstone, and then asked her to come back and read for the part a few days later. Johnson wrote that Cosby insisted she have a cappuccino from a large espresso machine, and she took a few sips.

"I knew by the second sip of the drink Cosby had given me that I'd been drugged — and drugged good," she wrote. "My head became woozy, my speech became slurred, and the room began to spin nonstop. Cosby motioned for me to come over to him as though we were really about to act out the scene. He put his hands around my waist, and I managed to put my hand on his shoulder in order to steady myself. As I felt my body go completely limp, my brain switched into automatic-survival mode. That meant making sure Cosby understood that I knew exactly what was happening at that very moment."

I was curious so ran a google news search. Seems to me that she is only saying that SHE was not molested by Cosby, and that SHE never experienced anything like that with him - and to "leave me out of it".

That's not exactly defending him. That's just "it didn't happen to me so I can't say anything, now leave me alone". Seems like a reasonable attitude if it's true.

There is ONE headline I found (at hollywoodlife.com) that reads: "Raven Symone Defends TV Dad Bill Cosby After Rape Allegations" but the CONTENT of the article says the same thing as above.

What she actually said (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/raven-symone-slams-rumors-bill-cosby-sexually-assaulted-her/):

The actress took to social media on Wednesday to slam the speculation -- which apparently stemmed from a story on a parody website that claimed she was a victim of Cosby's after the hit show ended.

"I was NOT taken advantage of by Mr. Cosby when I was on the Cosby Show! I was practically a baby on that show and this is truly a disgusting rumor that I want no part of!" the 28-year-old wrote Wednesday on Instagram. "Everyone on that show treated me with nothing but kindness. Now keep me out of this!"

I know nothing about her otherwise, I just don't think she should be put in a negative light by this - she didn't do anything wrong.

A remark passed on to me by an impeccably, genuninely trustworthy "Hollywood insider" some years back:

During a news broadcast about the first Michael Jackson/child molestation scandal, when asked what she thought, Elizabeth Taylor replied, "I LOVE Michael dearly ... but I wouldn't leave him alone in a room with MY grandkids!"

IOW, even though he was never convicted her gut said "Mmmmm ... no!"

Just curious (not challenging you at all): since the statue of limitations has run out on all the rapes reported so far and it seems (at this point anyway) like Cosby will therefore NEVER be formally accused or proven guilty of ANYthing, how many women will have to publicly accuse him of drug-rape before you believe it? (Not sure but I think the current number is over two dozen.)

Again, just so it's 100% clear: this is intended only as a thought-provoking question.

It's tough...the man has a history of being a great guy.... Has given back to his community and has done great philanthropy .

We live in a world where people love to pile on and pull down our heroes.

That said...yes, it's very disconcerting to see multiple women ,giving similar stories , that paint him as a sick person.

It's obvious all these women can't be wrong.

I guess it's one more hero that bites the dust.

Thank you for post and polite question.

One day psychologists may explain why some people find it necessary to post things that are not true and easily disproved - Elizabeth Taylor never said any such thing about Michael Jackson. Common sense should tell you that, if she had said that on a broadcast program, our poster would not have to assure us he got the 'information' "an impeccably, genuninely trustworthy "Hollywood insider" - EVERYBODY would know about it and have talked about it. It would be on Youtube.

But then, there is readily available information about Beverly Johnson's amazingly bad luck with men: She also accused Chris Noth (SATC's Mr.Big, The Good Wife) and golfer Mark Burk of beating her and threatening her. Guess she just can't catch a break. Another one of Bill Cosby's accusers, PJ Marsten, also has terrible luck - she testified against Marv Albert, claiming she barely escaped being attacked by tearing off his toupee. Marv Albert told Barbara Walters he was never involved with her, didn't wear a toupee, and the whole story was a fabrication.

If I could find info that cast doubt on a couple of Cosby's accusers, why couldn't CNN, why couldn't Vanity Fair? Bottom line, it doesn't matter how many women come forward. Unless they come forward with some proof, no matter how much you dislike him, Cosby is innocent of these charges.

give him a trial and let the leaves fall where they may. Letting him go is like saying its ok to treat the female gender that way. it is NOT and now is the time to get that message out. Beings as how there have been a lot of this kind of treatment in the news of late and all.

to understanding the mindset of a rapist. He could probably have had sex with a truck load of willing groupies; after all he was quite handsome, not to mention rich and famous, in his youth. But rape is not a sexual crime so much as it is a crime of power and dominance. These were women who had achieved some recognition in their own right, whether through hard work or physical beauty. He might have even been able to seduce them by ordinary means, charmer that he was. But drugging and raping his victims shows a completely different mindset than that of "a guy who just can't keep it in his pants".

I think he intentionally sought out beautiful, smart and/or successful females to prove his power over them.
