Joni Ernst To Deliver GOP Response To 2015 State Of The Union Address

Source: Huffington Post

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) will deliver the GOP response to President Barack Obama's 2015 State of the Union address on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced at the House and Senate GOP retreat in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

"Sen. Ernst brings a unique perspective to the Senate. She is a mother, a soldier and an independent leader who serves in Washington because Americans voted for change in the last election, and Joni understands that middle-class Americans want Congress to get back to work and that they want Washington to get refocused on their concerns, instead of those of the political class,” McConnell said in a statement Thursday.

House Speaker John Boehner praised Ernst after the announcement Thursday.

"She knows that our federal government is too big, our spending is too high, and our tax code is broken," Boehner said. And, she knows first-hand the sacrifices our men and women in uniform make to keep us all safe in a dangerous world."

I Presume they still use a sharp knife with hogs. I used to have to hold the hogs down while my dad did the cutting, which means you have to have a firm grip on the hind leg so the porker can't kick and disrupt the "surgery". Hogs with any size are strong animals.

Some idiot paying big bucks for a castration machine? Boy I'm impressed that a high paying politician has a silver plated castration machine. How sick is this? What is this suppose to represent? Yes I saw her ad to castrate pigs, representing cutting pork. A simple "I'm going to Washington to cut pork" would have done fine. Plain and simple. Is this some kind of intimidation? These people are totally warped and sick. Look at the smirk on her face. And Graham is just as proud as can be. Total sickos!!! Every damn one of them. Just look at them. I find no humor in this at all.

but it's not easy. My struggle is more with the stupidity that I see all around me, everywhere. But especially in RW politics. I'm a Buddhist, and stupidity has a special meaning in that context. It doesn't mean low IQ. It means the stupid belief that the concept of "self" is a solid, permanent thing that must be defended above everything else. And that "my self" in particular is the center of the universe and more important than you and your needs. Selfishness = stupidity. These extreme RWers, like Ernst, are just incredibly selfish, self-righteous, greedy, condescending, racist, and bloody ignorant, and proudly so. They cannot be embarrassed ever, because they have no shame. So as a Buddhist, I'm supposed to have equal compassion for them. But how?

You know the thing: that the GOP wants families to keep more of their own money, that we should have market-based health care, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Ernst is perfectly telegenic, but her stances on the issues are the sort of things that make the blood run cold. Thus far I haven't tracked her activities since being sworn in, but something tells me she will eventually run afoul of controversy.

The only speech I have ever seen her give was on election night. It was phenomenally bad and she has a totally grating, annoying, abrasive laugh. I am still haunted by that night, but she stood out among the horrors.

I think America is going to see the trainwreck she really is....but that means that America would have to be watching...

I hope this post is not taken as an argument...I just have only seen her once and she was awful! Thanks!
