Why Marine Le Pen wont admit that Russia hacked the U.S. election

January 7 at 6:00 AM

On Friday, America's intelligence agencies released a scathing report detailing “unprecedented” Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. But at least one politico isn't buying it.

No, not him.

Marine Le Pen, leader of France's far-right National Front party, dismissed reports of Russian interference in the American election as a “conspiracy theory” on Friday. “As soon as something goes badly, it's Russia's fault. It makes me smile,” she told the Anglo-American Press Association of Paris. “I'm not sure that there [is] any real serious evidence behind these accusations of cyber attacks.”

<snip>

Le Pen is notoriously cozy with Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom she has hailed as a “patriot” and a bulwark for traditional European values. She told a French TV station that she doesn't believe Russia's annexation of Crimea was illegal because Crimeans voted, via referendum, to join Russia. That vote was declared illegal by the United Nations, and Ukraine has barred Le Pen from entering the country.

come now, the only reason she has a chance in hell to win the election in France is if she could repeat the exact process by which Trump won the election. She cannot even count on an electoral college to save her ass. that being said a lot of people in Europe are drinking the Kool-Aid that the Anglo – American sphere helped mix. If she really want to go ahead and revive the French sense of patriotism you would wonder why she's in the same camp as Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. Neither of those two have France's interest at heart,, indeed you can argue that when the evil in the bearer were the two biggest beast on the block Europe was the tug-of-war of a used for the combat friends most certainly included, but then again our solution is to get rid of the euro,, which was the one serious challenge to Moscow, Washington and which would've been the serious challenge to China. . The Chinese are probably looking at the West, which includes Russia despite what they would like to think, eat itself and think open quote what lovely bones will have to pick."

Of course by that time the birth they will inherit will be so poisonous that even their habit of wearing air filters in their cities will not help. Even to a somewhat vindictive liberal like myself, that fought offers no comfort.

He wants far right-wing, nationalist governments throughout Europe and the US to break down NATO and other alliances and leave those countries weakened. Then Putin can consolidate his power and move to reconstitute the borders of the former Soviet Union with limited resistance. As Europe and the US get weaker, Russia gets stronger.

Meanwhile, the parties that benefit from Putin's schemes are firmly on board.
