Blind author loses first chapter when her pen runs out - But cops trace words
A BLIND author who lost the opening chapter to her debut novel after not realising her pen had run out has had her work saved by kind cops.
Trish Vickers, 59, wrote 26 pages before her son Simon noticed she had no ink.
Trishs work seemed lost until the pair thought of contacting police to see if they could help with recovering the invisible words.
A forensic expert examined the indents made in the pages and used special lights to recover the writing.

I heard this on the radio here in the UK earlier and then searched for a convenient link to the story when I got home.

Police save words of blind author who wrote 26 pages after pen ran out
Forensic experts worked in their spare time to read the indentations left on the A4 pages using a system of lights.
It took five months of painstaking work, but the forensic team was able to recover the whole text - and they said how much they had enjoyed it and couldn't wait for the rest.
