I'm sorry, but in spite of being 100% partisan Democrat, I don't see things in black and white.

Romney isn't stupid. He's not evil. He's not a world-class fuck-up like GWB. He's actually a fairly smart guy (cluelessness about aviation aside), particularly in the narrow specialty area of corporate finance and LBOs.

But he isn't up to the task of leading the "free world", and Nick Lehmann's smart, insightful, and I think fair profile of the candidate in this week's New Yorker gives you a really good idea why

2. Good catch! The graphic says almost as much as the article!

Seriously, though, I appreciated a fully-rounded picture of the guy in the article rather than a caricature.

It was not a hit piece or negative article, but it left me certain that he's not equipped to lead our country.
