Texas woman cries after trooper seizes Maxi-Pads: Ive never been so humiliated in my life
Video taken by a demonstrator at Fridays protest of an anti-abortion bill at the Texas State Capitol showed a woman saying she was publicly embarassed by Republican senators ban on tampons and sanitary pads from the premises.
-snip-
-snip-
She was crying when she came in crying, talking about how someone had confiscated her sanitary pads and was waving them around like a trophy, Hughes said. (The woman said) the state trooper was chasing her to the elevator, yelling at her that if she didnt like it, she could get out of the Capitol.
-snip-
This is too much, the woman says in the video. This is like some kind of third-world country that were in all of a sudden.
-snip-
Theyre taking water, hand sanitizer, lotion, cosmetics, Hughes said in a telephone interview. Theyve stopped taking tampons and sanitary pads, though, thankfully.

(9,474 posts)I hope theese police officers who are sworn to" serve and protect"+ have their faces plastered all over the internet, complete with name, addresses, phone #s, emails, every bit of identifying info available, and all the rethugs with them. Where is Anonymous when we need them?
There is absolutely NO legitimate reason to do this to women except to shame and humilate them. Did men have their condoms confiscated? If not, why not?
Every woman in America(and the men who care about them) should inundate the Texas State Troopers and the Rethugs in the State House with tampons and pads!

(83,791 posts)The entire country should inundate these assholes with pads. They can use them so that the pain of their collective asses getting kicked out of office won't hurt so much!

(2,322 posts)...seriously. Unless they suspected something could be hidden in pad or tampon that the x-ray machine wouldn't see
Of course, the actions of the trooper are a different story. I hope she got a name and number on the guy--or that someone did. Those in small positions of power take their cues from those in big positions of power, most especially men. From the governor on down, Texas men are making it clear that it's all right to treat women this way, and other men are clearly following their lead.

(83,791 posts)There are some people in this country that are flat out embarrassing in their stupidity and hatred. That trooper was shamelessly cruel to that woman. He wore his ignorance on his sleeve like it was a badge of honor!
Thanks Tx for hi-lighting the pure ignorance of the GOP.

Not forward but in slow motion back in time while the rest of the world moves forward. I always learned that GOD gave mankind the ability to pursue critical thinking. He/she gave us the reasoning with compassion and that inorder for humans to survive we must do it together.
Therefore, if the lawsuits can't stop these backward thinking scared sobs, then a change of governorship with legislation is coming. Count on it. It won't be another 2010.
