"The soap opera"

Here in Richmond all you have to mention is "the soap opera" and everyone knows what you are talking about. Bob and Maureen's trial.

Maureen has been run over by the bus repeatedly - loveless marriage, lusting after Johnnie Williams, a "nutbag" according her Chief of Staff, and possibly hoarding gifts in nooks and crannies in the Exec Mansion- everyday is "What happened today!?!"

I literally hear it in the grocery store and between random strangers talking at the gas station. You hear "The soap opera" everywhere. There is more interest in this than when "Lincoln" was filming here.

1. I've been waaay out of town for 3 months, so when I picked up a copy of

Style Weekly at the health food store, I saw the coverage. . .I was far enough away that I heard nothing for the 3 months I was gone. I'll have to catch up!!

2. Note that we are just on the prosecution phase

Bob and Maureen each have their own defense teams. Two defenses are going to be offered. There is at least 3 weeks of testimony remaining.

It's not following an chronological order. I think, not being a lawyer, that the prosecution is putting everyone on the stand to make it all look intertwined or to present the characters before the defenseS get to paint their picture.

Ex-Atty Gen. and Gov. candidate Jerry Kilgore (Williams's lawyer and lobbyist) testified Friday and yesterday
