Bill Maher Praises Rand Paul, But Defends Drone Strikes: ‘Some People Do Need Killing’

Bill Maher tonight credited Rand Paul for, despite a few gaffes and exaggerated hypotheticals, helping fuel a national conversation on the U.S. drone strike program as a result of his 13-hour filibuster. However, while Maher and panelist Arianna Huffington applauded Paul for his effort, Maher said that like the death penalty, there are bad people in the world who should be taken out by drones if the government decides it is necessary. Maher said, “Some people do need killing.”

Is right on so many things, but then he says stuff like this.

He really made me angry a week or so ago when he sneered at Tina Brown for putting the doctor who experienced an afterlife and wrote a book about it on the cover of Newsweek. This medical professional has credibility, being a neurosurgeon. Maher got everyone else on the panel to joke about it, too. I was disgusted.

I asked myself why I needed to listen to an ignorant person talk with other ignorant people about something they know nothing about.


He obviously is unaware that there have been quite a number of books come out that are written by medical doctors who are acknowledging the fact that consciousness survives the body.

He's not very well-read or up-to-date, but that doesn't stop him from using his forum to spread an uninformed opinion or to ridicule and laugh at people who dare to step outside conventional thinking.

I haven't been able to watch his show since.

just send in some riot cops at 4 AM and bust his sorry ass.

There is no need for these ultra high tech toys here in the US and their use needs to be restricted overseas. They kill too many of the wrong people.
