(62,444 posts)Seriously. Throwing unknown substances at a presidential candidate is going to get either the glitter bomber injured, or is going to distract security to give someone else the opportunity they are looking for.
Throwing something to make unwanted contact with another person is common law assault and battery, and is a statutory crime of various degrees in most if not all jurisdictions.

(135,425 posts)I would not like to see someone killed for tossing glitter at someone, but if that did happen, I wouldn't be yelling at the secret service. Their job is very clear--protect the principal at all costs. They don't half step.
It's just asking for serious trouble to try to throw substances at someone they are protecting.

I am amazed people have not been hurt doing this.
Try it in some third world nations where to approach the head of state abruptly will get you killed
