(166 posts)Prominent Democrats simply do not understand -- or fail to support -- the concept of a "political party."
As Maher points out, Democrats have foolishly joined the baseless -- but carefully orchestrated -- canonization of Ronald Reagan, which only serves to validate the disastrous Republican ideology they are supposed to be opposing.

(5,106 posts)My hard pro-union Democratic father-in-law had a real soft spot for Ronnie. I don't know if he actually ever voted for him, but he always quoted him fondly and was delighted that they shared a love for jelly beans. Believe me, he was not such an idiot about other Republican politicians.

The entry I replied to asked if I still missed Ronnie and I said that I never missed him and was sure I'd never miss the biggest cheerleader for the Rich while kicking the working folks and the poor whenever he could, which was often.
