WOW. My favorite local sports radio host was unloading verbal bullets on KTVU over the "Sum Ting Wong" incident on Friday. He didn't find that funny but rather a sign of news media going downhill and sheer naivete on the part of the TV station editorial staff, and Bruce calls on anchor Tori Campbell and other responsible editors to be FIRED.
Here are more highlights of observational, philosophical, beyond-the-game commentary by Bruce:

He also has two national shows that air on Saturdays on CBS Sports Radio in addition to his weekday local show: Eye on Baseball (10am-12pm ET) and The Damon Bruce Show (12pm-2pm ET).

(5,668 posts)Mo on the Simpsons is stupid. in real life logically Mo shouldn't exist. I liked the other one with indian sounding words but when said out loud that don't sound right but anyone who speaks English could see this with their glasses off. Ho Li Fuk yeah and what does Buck Fush and Cunning Stunts stand for?? Inwardly I was pissed off. outwardly I could see myself laughing away. Not real funny laughter more like WTF laughter like are you that stupid laughter. Like when someone looks like say some idiot like Huckabee says Jesus wept and Ellen Page said yes he had tears of joy. This would be similar. I had pissed off laughter. The mind couldn't comprehend how stupid someone could be to read that BS. I'm fairly sure the stupid Intern at the NTSB never thought it would actually make it to the front desk let alone a teleprompter let alone some nut reading it. Stupid yes. But lead my example and shut up. He's the idiot but the ones that should be punished are the ones supposedly higher up. Frankly the NTSB would be fairly alright to sue the absurd station here.

NTSB statement on erroneous confirmation of crew names
July 12
The National Transportation Safety Board apologizes for inaccurate and offensive names that were mistakenly confirmed as those of the pilots of Asiana flight 214, which crashed at San Francisco International Airport on July 6.
Earlier today, in response to an inquiry from a media outlet, a summer intern acted outside the scope of his authority when he erroneously confirmed the names of the flight crew on the aircraft.
The NTSB does not release or confirm the names of crewmembers or people involved in transportation accidents to the media. We work hard to ensure that only appropriate factual information regarding an investigation is released and deeply regret today's incident.
Appropriate actions will be taken to ensure that such a serious error is not repeated.

(9,350 posts)It did not take me very long to realize those names were fake. I do not know how so many people missed that these names were fake. The NTSB tried to blame the incident on a summer intern not going through the proper channels before he confirmed the names, but the people at the news station should have easily realized the names were fake. Just saying the names should allow one to realize the names are fake.
