Peace, Justice and Anarchy

&feature=youtu.be

I was experimenting with Ryan Harvey's music (Riotfolk) "Peace, Justice and Anarchy" and archival video of General Motors touting the benefits of "capitalism" and how lucky the average wage slaves were. I figured with the government closing down, I'd share this video I made. Normally, I support democracy but having been forced to watch it curl up and die at the hands of the Teaparty this week, I am ready for some good old fashioned anarchy. Just a little freedom from these nitwits is all I ask!

Thanks for watching. And click through to Youtube and "like."

Now it takes at least 2 full time workers..sometimes 3 to keep the same roof.
Usually 2 people with 2 part time jobs each.

Those working stiffs were the new middle class in 1937. And the company footage fails to reveal the Flint Sit-down Strike of 37 which must have occurred the same year as this film.
So these are the seething workers in my video days before the revolt! COOL.

is how generous they are with music. I try to support artists who have little or no backing from the mainstream recording industry because they support me when I make films by generously giving me creative commons rights.

I just sent a link of their website to my daughter who is in film school. She is doing her thesis film and their music has that dark undercurrent she has in her script. And she needs music that is either free or very inexpensive because she has such a small budget.

I am jealous.

But yay for creative commons musicians helping budding film makers.

because I am not altogether sure I am an anarchist, but I do feel that ugly hive mentality depicted in GMs film. They used much of the same footage to portray that world as stable and secure -- to be fully desired. Their propaganda is the oppositie of mine. Ironic switch of POV, I thought.

Still, Ryan Harvey is maybe a teensy bit left of me. I am not sure since I always pretty much agree with what he says about the world. And I love his songs. Especially that he allows other artists to use them for free. No copyright crap. That means a lot.
