If you are a parent, grandparent, other relative or friend of a child, please talk to your children about guns... if they see a gun, immediately leave the scene and report it... if they see another child playing with a gun, immediately leave the scene and report it. etc. If a gun can be seen or played with by a child, there is an irresponsible gun owner that needs to be reined in.
So many young children suffer from what I call the "Tom and Jerry Syndrome"...
they don't understand deadly force. That cat and mouse can kill each other many many times, yet they always get up and go for it again.
Guns are on tv. Toy guns are in the stores. They need to know if they see a gun, that they should IMMEDIATELY LEAVE the scene and report it to a responsible adult.
Not someone *at the scene*. They need to know not to touch or handle a gun. They are young children and unless they are told, they will probably act with curiosity that could get them hurt or killed.
