The ACA already provides protections for persons and institutions whose PRIMARY purpose or activity is religious

(1) Religious institutions (i.e. churches, synagoges, mosques, temples, etc. and those organizations associated with them whose primary purpose is religious and the advancement of religion) have broad exemptions under the ACA
(2) Institutions that may be borderline I believe can apply to have their status determined. For example a fraternal organization associated with the Catholic Church could request a determination
(3) Many non-profit organizations will also be subject to exemptions

What is at question with Hobby Lobby, etc. is whether a for profit company can be required to provide health insurance that includes coverage for contraception.

My view is as follows.....

Businesses enjoy significant advantages in our country.
(1) Limited liability - we offer a number of business organizational forms that limit the liability of owners (e.g. Incorporation, LLP, LLC, LLLP, etc.)
(2) Market economy
(3) Educated workforce (for the most part)
(4) Infrastructure
(5) Legal system that enables enforcement of contracts, protects IP, etc.

In exchange for these benefits the owners of these "for profit" enterprises agree to participate in the social contract. We have determined through our elected officials that for profit businesses must, when they are subject to the requirement, offer health care plans that cover contraception. We are not asking them to use contraception themselves. The fact that an itsy bitsy teeny weenie portion of what they may pay as an employer for the contraception and other female care in their premiums is a moot point.

If you want to make money in our society you play by the rules or suggest you set up business in say Afghanistan. They would do very well there selling Bibles.
