I'm an even-tempered guy, but I swear I'm gonna punch the next denier who says to me "How are you enjoying this global warming? HA-HA!" in the face.

tend to believe what they are told by their favorite source of misinformation. If this be Faux, fundamentalism, or climate change deniers, once they have bought into the lies they are told, changing their erroneous beliefs is virtually impossible. When ice storms hit my home town, Atlanta, they believe this cold disproves global warming because they are told to believe that. Quite obviously, the energy companies who depend on fossil fuels spend enormous amounts of money convincing these people that the energy the company produces comes from clean sources and does not harm the planet. Climate change is simply the expected fluctuation in normal weather patterns: the energy companies mantra. Once the people who deny global warming are standing in mid-Florida with water up to their chins, they might, maybe, understand that the climate is changing for the worse.

I live on an island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Since I am old, I will not live to see the island disappear, but it is now in the process of being covered by the sea.
