(5,610 posts)Warehouses full of commodities, inflation exploding. Our POTUS can issue an executive order ending this, at least in America. Maybe "they" are blackmailing him? "if you do that in America, we will admit that you told us to do that in Venezuela." I doubt that though.
What a perfect time to cut food stamps... but they do not buy non-food items anyway. In Krogers, 200 foot pkg. of aluminum foil is now $9.00.
When are WE (United) gonna hit the streets to survive? This is making "THE GREAT DEPRESSION" look like a mirror, only we are surrounded by more high tech. which gives the appearance of prosperity.
I noticed in a picture from a Ugandan (?) (African anyway) OP, that a women living in abject poverty by our standards was watching a
52" flat screen teevee. I cannot afford one. Perception..
This month I am going to have to downgrade cell phone data pkg. that my Son uses, teevee service, etc. just to survive.
This is not the America I grew up in. We actually had 2 very different political parties and the elite were not out to destroy us.

It is not the America I grew up in, either.
One can't help but think that what's happening on Wall Street and inside the TBTF banks is exactly what has happened to the so-called "two-party system" in the USA.
There is the perception of two parties, but as Mike P said, just a "little bit" of difference to not upset people too much.
I'm sorry you are struggling. I know of many people in the same boat, and a lot of others who pretend they're not struggling.

(147 posts)What is so frustrating is that even though many of us know what is going on, the overwhelming majority of Americans are still clueless about it. What's the excuse?
We accept that our wages, our benefits, even our food stamps values are rapidly declining, but the price of milk, cereal, gasoline, and just about everything else escalate nonstop.
This is the transfer of wealth from us to them, in action, right before our eyes. And we do nothing.
The Justice Department considers these matters "too big". We've been waiting for Holder/Obama to either s*** or get off the pot, and it appears they're going to do the latter.
And then bring another Clinton into the picture?
Exactly what do you do when you're standing on the tracks watching the locomotive coming at you? In America, nothing.
