(10,622 posts)at the expense of the majority of the barely surviving, although deplorable, is in no way an impeachable offense. The answer is to only support those that do not work against our interests like the Corporate Democrats and Republicans are wont to do, and supporting such populists strongly, fanatically and tirelessly until those in the service of the extremely wealthy are eventually marginalized and pushed out of the party.
We outnumber the Oligarchs by 99.9 to .1, we need to make our numbers work for us rather than allow ourselves to be tricked into supporting our own slow starvation by those that betray us.
Vengeance is best served by replacing corporate tools with populists that are on our side rather than the Walton's side. It is frustrating as hell, I know, but the more they screw us the stronger our populist movement becomes, it will no doubt be too late for us, but if we work hard enough for our interests instead of continuing to support the lesser of two evils that work against us, perhaps the next generation can receive the benefits of a fairer government and a "square deal".
Just my own two cents.

(68,644 posts)Walmart happens to have done a great deal with energy efficiency and solar energy, they even began a solar schools program with educational resources and solar energy installations.
I hate Walmart's business model, I hate Chinese crap and the way they treat their workers.
I'll go miles out of my way to avoid shopping at Walmart.
But for anyone paying attention, there was a good reason to speak at Walmart.

(4,959 posts)Obama Said to Put Personal Push Behind EPA Emission Rules
By Lisa Lerer and Julianna Goldman
May 15, 2014 12:00 AM ET
U.S. President Barack Obama plans to personally unveil proposed carbon-emissions rules for power plants, elevating climate change policy as a top tier issue for his final two years in office, according to two people familiar with White House strategy.
Obama is preparing to make the announcement with Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy, who said this week the rules are on track to be proposed by June 2, according to the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the schedule is still being planned.
After relegating climate change to the back burner during his first term, Obama would be taking an unusual step of announcing regulatory proposals before they are finalized by the federal government and years before they would be implemented. His direct engagement is intended to demonstrate to environmental advocates and business interests that hes committed to stricter emissions standards.
Theres no question that President Obama views this as a legacy issue and he wants to be very directly involved, said Frank ODonnell, president of Clean Air Watch, a non-profit advocacy group in Washington. It sends the signal that this is going to remain a high profile issue for probably the rest of the presidents term.

(27,137 posts)I see I probably need to use my ''rhetorical question'' emoty more often. But I'm happy for you, if you're happy. But the pushing for new ''rules'' to add to all the ones we've already got with one hand, while taking away civil rights like due process and the right to life, liberty and happiness with the other, isn't my idea of a great legacy.
- And then there's all this to consider as well.
