Grace then addressed the dispute over whether Zimmerman made a racial slur while talking to a 911 dispatcher. "I hear him say 'f---ing coons," she said, as she was bleeped out. "I heard that, OK? I don't need NASA to tell me what I heard. I don't need a reporter. I heard it!"

Oliver said that whether or not a person heard Zimmerman make the slur depended on "perspective."

Let the jury make the decisions. I think there is a blackout on getting ALL the information out. It seems Zimmerman's got their story and the law seems to be behind him. I think he is a liar and in court it will be proven.

you only know as much about a person as they let you know about themselves. Period. Plenty of convicted mass murderers have families, kids, sit up in church every sunday and sing and quote the gospel--the BTK killer for one--and you can ask anyone who knew them about their criminal proclivities and they will all say the same: "he was a model citizen; he was a good husband and father; he was this and he was that. But NEVER does "he was a dark, dangerous criminal" come out of their mouths.

He may never have used slurs in your presence; but in the presence of others--and clearly on the phone with the police--he used them. If denial makes you sleep better at night, have at it, Hoss. 14. CNN did an analysis of the 911 recording in question.

Zimmerman's call to police was among the 911 tapes released by police. Some people hear what sounds like a possible racial slur. CNN enhanced the sound of the 911 call, and several members of CNN's editorial staff repeatedly reviewed the tape but could reach no consensus on whether Zimmerman used a slur.

This CNN staff is clearly more objective. Grace has little credibility. If you don't believe me, consider this excerpt about her behavior during the Duke lacrosse case:

Grace took a vehemently pro-prosecution position throughout the 2006 Duke University lacrosse case, in which Crystal Gail Mangum, a stripper and North Carolina Central University student, falsely accused three members of Duke University's men's lacrosse team of raping her at a party. Prior to Duke suspending its men's lacrosse team's season, she sarcastically noted on the air, "I'm so glad they didn't miss a lacrosse game over a little thing like gang rape!" and "Why would you go to a cop in an alleged gang rape case, say, and lie and give misleading information?" After the disbarment of District Attorney Mike Nifong, Attorney General Roy Cooper pronounced all three players innocent of the rape charges made by Mangum and Nifong. On the following broadcast of her show, Grace did not appear and a substitute reporter, Jane Velez-Mitchell, announced the removal of all charges.

This same Wikipedia article provides other good reasons to be skeptical of everything she says.

I wouldn't be surprised to see another analysis conducted of this recording. But for now there is no conclusive evidence to support claims that Zimmerman used an ethnic slur during his 911 call.
