A pair of lawmakers who recently read the redacted portion say they are “absolutely shocked” at the level of foreign state involvement in the attacks...

...Some information already has leaked from the classified section, which is based on both CIA and FBI documents, and it points back to Saudi Arabia, a presumed ally.

there would have been a public outcry for retaliation. This is something that the Bush Oil Conglomerate would never have supported. And because we're dependent on oil and Saudi Arabia, it means that we had to accept being sucker punched. It is probably also why it was necessary from the powers that be to hush things up to get Bush elected to a second term.

But, that's just my shot in the dark. No proof until we read the 28.

My information also came from independent journalists, a couple in the US but also other countries, and a web site that was taken down in 2004. I have copies that I'm saving for my grandchildren.

we lost our freedoms through the Patriot Act and the mission creep of every anti-terrorist agency.

We also lost the attention of the FBI who put local government corruption on the back burner.

our country. In fact, we're becoming more like the middle east by the day....money at the top, religious fanatics being taken seriously, loss of civil liberties....and everyone hating everyone. If there is one thing the middle east specializes in, it is hating one another, with bullets flying, and two sets of laws.

were aware of what was about to happen to us. Actually, I think Bush would have been a puppet. But Cheney is not only evil enough to be on the ground floor of that plan, but the fact that he's still trying to be a drover for his POV, it makes it more likely that he's still trying to influence the process to keep us from learning the truth.

but Bush and his clowns wanted to go after Al Qaeda's enemies and not its friends, so they covered up the Saudis' involvement.

Nothing much has changed. The US is essentially still supporting the Sunni terrorists while threatening, arming the enemies of, or attacking the Shiite or secular enemies of the Sunni terrorists.

Then join the bill to get it released. Or, as this representative says, hold a press conference to explain why you don't want it released. It's been 13 years. We need more information. The families and the general public should know what's in those 28 pages.

While I agree that the 9/11 info should be made public, I disagree on pretty much everything else he stands for. He's a right-wing libertarian Republican who seems to be taking his lead from Rand Paul. Much like Paul, he's capable of saying something sane every now and again just to try and appear less like a nutbag.

We are talking about 9/11 here. One would think that the whole country could actually join together and demand the release of these pages.

Of course the guy is a first rate asshole, but if anyone sees those pages and makes the comments in the video, then I want to see the pages.

This is a Republican teabagger Congressman who does not deserve publicity on DU. Even so, if he were giving actual factual information, we would keep it; but he is just dropping hints that he has access to secret information on the subject -not what it is.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
