We're all familiar with the classic MTV format: Women are scantilly-dressed, objects for men to ogle, and are usually referred to as "girl" as opposed to, you know, an actual name! This tune positively skewers that attitude. Hear hear, Maddie and Tae!

(8,879 posts)and it was filled with "women are scantilly-dressed, objects for men to ogle." And men in some of the revealing clothing women often choose to wear.
I missed the skewering part and just saw more of the same only it was the women who were doing the exploiting.

If it reaches some of the teenaged girls and young women who don't "get" the concept or point of feminism -- especially the rural ones, who listen to country music -- it's all good.

(110,900 posts)This is a great song by good singers and a tight band.
If country keeps cranking out Dixie Chicks and Maddie and Tae, I might have to rethink despising it.
(No, seriously, I've always been able to tell good and bad apart, I just can't listen to it for more than half an hour before getting homicidal)
