ETA: As you know, US TV usually "treats" us to a debate between a Republican, often extreme, and a Democrat, most often a center right to right Democrat, or one who will go only so far publicly. (IMO, even Sanders often "pulls his punches" in order to be heard at all, even on MSNBC.)
This, however, was a debate between two Democrats, O'Donnell, who claims to be a socialist, representing very well the position of a LOTE voter, and Brand, representing very well the "no one is serving the people anywhere near enough" view. No matter which side one comes down on, Brand's viewpoint doesn't get anywhere near enough air time and needs to be heard a lot more.

(9,020 posts)Even though Russell talks a mile a minute, he makes sense.
It appears that the British are in the same boat we are: two parties who do not represent the people but instead represent the elites only.
And about the only way to break that logjam is for the people - left and right - to come together to say "Enough!" Echoes of Ralph Nader in this country.
So far, the people ain't doin' it.
