She was a total failure at politics, starting in Alaska. However, she is smart in the fact that she knew how to take that publicity and turn it into big cash. How else could they afford a Hummer, 300 dollar sunglasses, beer, and a thong dress for little miss pretty.

I forced myself to listen to the Bristol Palin audio in which she gives her version of the Thrilla in Wasilla. After listening once, I have listened a few more times for the entertainment value!!!

She tells the cops her 5-year-old child was with her in the limo (or words to that effect). A 5-year-old? Out at midnight in a limo full of falling-down, shit-faced drunks looking for a fight??

I nominate Bristol Palin for Mother of the Year.

Seriously -- after retiring from the Army in the mid-1990's, I worked six years for the Methodist Church in the coalfields of WV-KY-TN-VA -- you know, the region that's the butt of a lot of trailer trash jokes? I met and worked with a lot of (mostly) single mothers who had made some really, really bad choices but damn if I can recall one WV single mother living on food stamps in a run-down single-wide who would expose her 5-yr-old to a drunken midnight brawl.
