Please help them, share their story, give if you can. They are fighting the biggest powers and they need and deserve for their story to be told, and any support we can offer. Aloha.

(15,882 posts)cars, and they are rolling all night long out to the Coast. I know because I can see them from here.
The Railroads ought to send them a thank you letter.
But those people on that land are doing good work, and should keep it up.

(6,699 posts)I wish you well. We aren't so fortunate as to have legal rights that withstand the corrupt courts to block anything in the lower 48. We are owned and controlled by the corporations.

(9,895 posts)Not the fact that these indigenous peoples are standing up and attempting to stop incarnate evil.
What depresses me is the fact that this is the ONLY way they can respond any longer. Their entire lives are dedicated to slowing down a train that is hitting them and going around them like waves on lighthouse pier.
These people do not get to choose a life - pursuit of happiness, leisure or interests...they are forced to patrol and build and fight for their rights every single day and STILL the companies and governments and investors looking for another dollar go around them inexorably. I watched this video immediately after reading about the GOP putting Inohofe and Cruz in charge of committees on environment and science and space respectively. A climate change denier and a creationist in charge of regulating industry and the environment and science investment by the federal government.
I love the passion of these people and the fact that they are taking the actions they can, but the fact is it will not matter at all.
Not one little bit.
The people pushing for this have no long view, no plan for a future beyond the next quarterly report unless it is tied to their "nut" (the amount of money they believe they need to stop working and retire...to further exploit the resources of the planet as if they were actually personal resources and not NATURAL resources.
The world my grandchildren would live in is going to be a horror show of war, famine, strife and unbelievable evil. I have begun telling my eldest daughter (16) to NEVER have children because to do so is to guarantee a life filled with unimaginable horrors.
Fuck this species. I wish I could leave the planet and start over somewhere else...

(17,663 posts)We stand with them from where we are by sharing their story and supporting as we can, and encouraging others to do the same. I'm even looking at going off the island to kokua, which is really saying something!
